More shots of Ardala in her cool full-metal green form. A dramatic "up shot", the proverbial worm's eye view. To let you all in on a little secret, this page was drawn back in 2014. Check out the original ink drawing here. You see, I've always had this idea to draw these metallic-silvery looking beings and include them in some kind of story. I think this fixation comes from being a fan of John Buscema's Silver Surfer. That, and it's like drawing pure human form--no costumes, capes, clothing, etc.
I will estimate that I've been studying the human figure in drawing and painting for almost 30 years. This takes me back to when I created some of my very first, home-made comic books from when I was 13 years old. Those old comics (which my see the light of day perhaps) show my earliest attempts at drawing the human figure. I'm not sure if that amounts to 10,000 hours, but I can say for certainty that my education as an artist and student of the human form continues to this day. You never stop learning about the human form.
This page also shows my love of drawing backgrounds. I know these aren't real buildings as we know them here on earth. But I do like creating the shapes and structures that help create the environment for my worlds. Between the characters and the worlds, I guess you could say I am universe building. And that's pretty fun stuff to me.
I was able to find a partially penciled scan of the original art, which is shown below. If you've enjoyed reading this page and you'd like to be notified when new pages are posted or when I have other cool news to announce, please subscribe to my email list.
